 Terms and Conditions
SALES: All books are sold subject to availability. We do try our best to keep the site up to date, but there may be times when we have not had the opportunity to remove a sold item before someone else orders it. We do try to keep these incidents to a minimum.
We would ask for collection and payment in full within seven days of ordering, if not paid for when ordering.
For single items, in the UK, you can order and pay straight away. Second class postage quoted, but you can request first class if preferred.
For multiple items ordered in the UK, we will calculate the postage & packing charge and email you an invoice.
If you prefer to collect from our shop and avoid postage costs, we can invoice you without postage.
For overseas customers, we will only accept payment via 'Paypal', we will calculate the postage and packing and invoice you (See Shipping & Handling details below).

CONDITION: Grading of a book is very subjective, and difficult, our 'Very Good' may be another collectors 'Good'. We try to give as clear a picture of the condition of the book when we list it as possible, and our pictures are always of the actual item for sale. But we can take things to fairs and people will look at them in the shop, and they can be creased or damaged after listing. If we notice this has occurred, we will endeavor to notify the buyer. But you can return it if not completely satisfied (See Returns). We are also only too happy to answer any queries on condition before purchasing, (See contact us).

The following categories have been applied to all our items.

M - Mint: - The book is as new.
F - Fine: - The book is almost new.
VG - Very Good: - Slightly less then fine with some minor defects, which hardly detract.
G - Good: - The book is obviously secondhand and has been fairly well read. It is however still in a collectable condition
P - Poor: - Book is normally only good as a reading copy or will do until a better one is available.

In some cases, where books fall within a specific category but is slightly better then the norm this will be designated with an addition sign, i.e. G+, VG+ etc. Likewise if it is slightly worse than the norm, but not bad enough to go down a category, a minus sign is added, i.e. G - , VG , etc.

If the book has a dustjacket (DJ), the condition of the DJ is put second, book condition first / DJ second. i.e. VG/VG = Very Good book in a Very Good Dustjacket.

We also use the following terms to describe condition:

Bumped - This refers to the corners of a book, where they are not square, but are rounded to various degrees, usually where the book has been dropped or pushed onto shelves. Or to the top of a spine where it has been pulled off a shelf by the top of the spine, and it has become flattened or broken away.

Rubbed - This generally refers to the edges of the covers of the book, where there is wear down the edges and the colour has rubbed off. It often occurs were a book is pushed onto a shelf or down the spine edges were it has been rubbed on surfaces.

Tanned or Foxed - These are the age spots that can appear on the pages of a book over time, they appear as brown spots of various sizes. And tanning is just the general discolouration of the page edges, usually going from slight yellowing/ brown to dark brown, depending on the age and quality of the paper. The poorer quality the worse it can affect and the quicker it can happen. Often occurs when exposed to bright sunlight over time.

Cockled - This is where the paper has got damp at some stage and the paper has 'rippled'. This may cause a brown mark or yellowing around the edge of the stain, or just a 'rippling' effect on the pages, with no mark at all.

RETURNS: You may return any book within 14 days of receipt for a full refund of the cost of the book. We will not normally refund any postage costs, unless it can be shown to be a fault on our behalf. We are always happy to answer any queries you may have before committing yourself to a purchase.
