Kathleen Mary Norton (Nee Pearson) - Born: 10th December 1903, London - Died: 29th August 1992 (88), Bideford, Devon.
After all their adventures in 'The Borrowers', 'The Borrowers Afield' and 'The Borrowers Afloat', what a comforting thing it was in their search for security for Pod, Homily and Arrietty to find a home which surpassed their dreams in Mr Pott's charming model village! For once everything about them was about the right size - and they spent a gloriously happy summer in this paradise. But by the time the autumn arrived there was rivalry between the Potts and the Platters - and the comfort to the little family was threatened. The future looked very dark indeed, until Arrietty hit upon a wonderful idea ... yes, a wonderful idea, which in a way left them free of touch-and-go encounters with humans; of short-lived comforts bought at too high a price ... and Pod worked at the idea through a long, difficult winter. This final instalment of the Borrowers' sga is probably the most dramatic of the four.
